Unlike our main campus, our satellite campus won’t have a Garden Store, instead it’ll have a marketplace. This part of the welcome center will offer rental booths to local businesses looking for a brick-and-mortar shop. The businesses selling locally-made products in our Marketplace, must somehow be involved in PBG; related to botany and horticulture; or share our mission, vision, and core values.
We plan to grow a variety of food-bearing plants within our gardens. Whether it’s heirloom corn from our Demonstration Gardens, paw paws from our arboretum, or passionfruit from our conservatories we don’t want this produce to go to waste. We plan to sell the fresh produce at affordable and accessible prices, and any left over produce will be brought to homeless shelters.
