Brendan is helping the Land Acquisition Committee find a new home for Portland Botanical Gardens. He brings years of planning and policy development experience from his role as a Senior Advisor at the US Environmental Protection Agency in air and water quality, land re-use, and disaster response management. While serving on Senator Ron Wyden’s staff, Brendan reviewed legislation to fund the restoration of the US Botanical Garden. He also consulted with various planning committees to preserve the Enid A. Haupt Garden on the grounds of the Smithsonian Castle.
Trained as an environmental designer, Brendan has built a portfolio of residential and institutional gardens. His most recent project was a bird sanctuary adjoining Rock Creek Park in Washington, DC. Having moved to Portland recently, Brendan is eagerly discovering Portland’s abundance of public parks and gardens.
