It’s in our name and it’s what we do. Botany is the scientific study of plants and every aspect of their existence. As a cutting-edge botanical garden, our botany program will need to be well staffed, outfitted, and planned so we can be on the front lines of botanical research.

Botany and its variety of adjacent environmental disciplines are disappearing from career and educational spaces. This discourages those who are passionate about plants from ever joining the field—they just don’t pay well.
